Four former Spanish intelligence officers are assassinated simultaneously at different embassies across the globe. These officers were all linked to a decades old, top-secret mission in Colombia known as “Operación Ciénaga” (Operation Swamp). The Spanish Intelligence Agency (CNI) pulls their top operative, Zeta, out of a sabbatical to handle the crisis. His task is to locate and protect the only surviving member of the original operation, Salvador Ancares, before the mystery assassin reaches him.
